Anika Noni Rose, an American actress and singer. She's best known for portraying Tiana Disney's very first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog. She was named as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson in her character in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American actor and vocalist. Her most well-known role is that of Tiana the first Disney African American princess, in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney named her a Legend in the year 2011. The same year, she was recognized by her part in Dreamgirls (2006) in which she earned the Academy Award for Best Picture. In the Starz show Power she was the character LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. In addition to her acting work, she's well-known for her roles performed in theater.
